By bringing in an unknown George Lazenby everyone thought they would definitely succeed, but "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was not the hit they had hoped for. Adrian Harrington began trading in 1971, as part of Harrington Brothers in the Chelsea Antiques Market on London's fashionable King's Road. I haven't looked much beyond the first few pages because this is the kind of book I love to consume a small serving at a time - to savor like a fine Port.

There is a striking photo of Sean Connery, Ian Fleming, Cubby Broccoli and Harry Saltzman - really the four men who made Bond happen. This impeccably British character created by author Ian Fleming has starred in 23 EON-produced films, played by 6 different actors over five decades. I saw this book behind the windows in Harrods in London and thought that would be a interesting book about the James Bond Movies. No (1962) and ending with the upcoming SkyFall (2012), including the spoof Casino Royale (1967) and Never Say Never Again (1983). Between 2004 and 2014 he wrote the FILMGOERS' GUIDE book series - CRIME WAVE, STAGECOACH TO TOMBSTONE, OUTER LIMITS, ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE ITALIAN WEST and WHEN EAGLES DARED. Paul Duncan is a film historian whose TASCHEN books include The Star Wars Archives, The James Bond Archives, The Charlie Chaplin Archives, The Godfather Family Album, Taxi Driver, Film Noir, and Horror Cinema, as well as publications on film directors, film genres, and movie stars. This edition was published in 2012 to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of Bond and goes up to "Skyfall". The stunning imagery is accompanied by an oral history recounted by over 150 cast and crew members, relating the true inside story of how the Bond films were made.

The James Bond Archives is the ultimate companion to all things 007, covering the making of every single movie in the James Bond franchise, from Dr. Archive of correspondence between Jonathan Cape, the publisher of Fleming's Bond series, and the author's favoured typist Jean Frampton. Bound in black cloth with scarlet cloth over boards, titles blocked in crimson and gilt to upper board, gilt titles to spine, illustrated endpapers. With hard to find photographs (unpublished until now stills) and new information that gives to fans hours to delight a very easy reading.

xvi) A single typescript topsheet for The Man with the Golden Gun, backed by an unrelated letter addressed to a Mr Rae. Included here is: an original typed page of Thrilling Cities, a carbon typescript with the three-line Basho poem from You Only Live Twice, typescript sheets from You Only Live Twice, a typesheet from The Man with the Golden Gun, a typesheet from The James Bond Dossier and three sheets from Colonel Sun. No and taking us up to date with the appearance of Daniel Craig, this is a goldmine of material that even I - as a Bond aficionado from the days when anyone below the age of 18 could not get into a cinema and watch them unaccompanied by an adult (they were considered that risque! The ultimate companion to all things 007, covering the making of every movie in the James Bond franchise, from Dr. Some of the best photos include Sean Connery in the casino with the first Bond woman Sylvia Trench in "Dr No", Sean Connery being temporarily outwitted by Captain Nash on the train in "From Russia With Love", landscape shots of Piz Glora from "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", and Roger Moore meeting Major Anya Amasova for the first time at the Pyramids in "The Spy Who Loved Me".

He's famous for the novel 'Night and the City', which was turned into a fantastic Film Noir by Jules Dassin in 1950. This gives it a fast-paced feel - almost like over-hearing experts having a conversation about the making of the movies.
