I followed the instructions and assembled the crew module followed by the fore and aft walkways, painting subassemblies as I went. They include three options for the crew module windows: blacked out, crew in helmets, or crew without helmets. The previous release of the 12” version of the ship has always been well-received by fans and modelers everywhere. Parts are provided in off-white, gray and clear, and the kit includes all necessary marking decals so it can be built without the need for paint if desired.

This edition of the 22” Eagle from MPC features shoulder pod and engine configuration from Eagle 2 and the famous laboratory pod featured in the “Metamorph” episode of Space: 1999. It was ideal for industrial and agricultural uses with “wide appeal among sportsmen who do not want to be limited by terrain”.Following up its big 1/48 scale Space: 1999 Eagle transporter released in 2015, MPC has scaled the ship to 1/72 scale which makes it about 14 inches long. You can vary the height depending on the length of the plastic tube from approx 4 inches to 6 inches (100mm to 150mm). Fitting Part 37 around the fuel tanks proved tricky; I installed the combustion chambers (parts 38 and 39), then added the fuel pipe (Part 42). In its first appearance in the episode, War Games, a squadron of ships decimated Moonbase Alpha’s fleet of Eagle Transporters. They replace the VTOL engines under the ship and module as well as the main propulsion units; plastic baffles detail the last.

Designed by VFX supervisor Brian Johnson and represented by miniatures of varying sizes for filming, the iconic ship is as popular today as it was back then. Initially included as part of MPC's Nuclear Waste Area 2 Diorama, MPC are now releasing the buggy with added features in its own kit! When building these 14" ones I usually use decals to do the panelling but on the 22" I tend to mask and paint. Model maker Jim Small's kits modify the MPC/Airfix/Ertl Eagle to match the varied configurations with a high degree of accuracy.Sold in a bubble pack, with red and black card art (series logo and rescue Eagle over lunar surface, art by Graham Bleathman). Each kit features authentic details copied from the production props like the buttons, knobs, and switches. This item will be carefully packed and sent out in sturdy outer box via tracked courier or post, with full insurance. I was needlessly worried about the weathering, and probably cleaned up the wash too much too, it definitely would have looked okay with a bit more dirt.
