When the neighboring martial arts retreat gets cancelled, one very handsome stranger chooses to stay and learn the craft of writing.

Last but not the least, I would like to say that, I totally loved this novel, combined with finding love and accepting love, written in a well versed manner. So, naturally enough, she starts telling the man sitting next to her – quite a gorgeous American, but she’s too frightened to notice – all her innermost secrets. Twenties Girl , I've Got Your Number , Wedding Night , My Not So Perfect Life , Surprise Me , and I Owe You One . One Thursday lunchtime the Earth gets unexpectedly demolished to make way for a new hyperspace bypass. The side characters were interesting – I enjoyed getting to know both friend groups and seeing their quirks, as well as how they’d all get along and hang out. She’s determined to finish writing the novel she’s been fantasizing about, even though it means leaving her close-knit group of friends and her precious dog, Harold, behind. This is a sweet and hilarious book about falling (and staying) in love when all odds are against you. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it definitely adds to the humor of the novel – but at times, it just felt like a lot. There’s nothing to say more because there are so many things to fall in love with this book and take it to Vegetarian restaurant and end your night with creamy gelato!

We meet her just before she embarks on a writing retreat in Italy, where she intends to work on the aforementioned novel. The writing retreat is special: no one is allowed to use their real names or reveal anything about themselves.A much-used word, karma is loosely understood as a system of checks and balances in our lives, of good actions and bad deeds, of good thoughts and bad intentions. The taverna is the only place that Kostas and Defne can meet in secret, hidden beneath the blackened beams from which hang garlands of garlic and chilli peppers, creeping honeysuckle, and in the centre, growing through a cavity in the roof, a fig tree. However, if you like a little more depth in your romance novels, you might find this a bit frivolous.

They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. They realize they start to fall hard even though they don’t know anything about each other including their real names. There is a great mix of characters in this, and I have to say I've not encountered Matt's family business before, and half of me would have liked to know more.So when she gets the chance to go to a writing retreat at a remote monastery in Italy, she jumps on it. As a vegan, I found this part to be very funny, and it brings up a lot of questions for vegans and vegetarians. Ada is a bit scatty, devoted to her friends and completely blind to Harold’s faults – a familiar type of character. But she’s desperate to get a childhood treasure – her Russian dolls – from the family house before it’s sold.

He gives me another reproachful look but pads over to the hearth rug by Nell’s chair and settles down. As usual, Kinsella has created a lovely cast of quirky supporting characters—Ava and Matt’s friends might even be more fun to read about than the romance. For most of the book, I kept thinking they were terrible for each other which didn’t make it feel very romantic.Special thanks to NetGalley and Random Press Publishing/Dial Press for sharing this fantastic ARC with me in exchange my honest review. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she is mistaken for the interviewee housekeeper and finds herself being offered the job. For instance, on their first date at Ava’s house, her “vintage school chairs,” which she chose because she prefers the character of old, used furniture to the function of new, collapses…and takes Matt down with it, leaving him with a terrible gash on his arm. She is passionate about all things related to books and loves helping authors navigate the world of social media for book promotion.
