Description

If you’re story sucks, you may have we’ll have submitted a three-block Duplo entry indistinguishable from a 2 year old slap-together. Put down your binoculars and get closer to nature with these intricate LEGO® models of well-known birds! The flowers and leaves can be repositioned, allowing you to style the plant and create your own display, and there are even a few surprises if you look carefully enough – do you see the little purple LEGO swords used to make the flower’s stamens? Each print is made using Lego letterpress, combining individual building blocks into stamps to recreate the birds’ shapes and patterns, a technique perfected over the past decade by his frequent collaborator, the artist Martijn van der Blom.

While sure, each green-lit product costs them a small percentage going to the person who came up with the design, but think of everything else that’s out there. It has its flaws like any other set: the grey Technic axle used between the Robin and tree branch, black pieces used instead of ‘Earth Blue’ for the Blue Jay and the loose ‘Earth Green’ pieces of the Hummingbird. These beautiful and detailed models come with their own presentation stands showing their scientific names, so that you can display your birds for all to enjoy or detach and play as you wish.In front of the pedestal we have the printed 'Flat Tile 2x4' with the name of the specific bird which keeps them partly hidden and at the edge of the base we have a ‘San Yellow’ finish to possibly represent wood. Even the Hubble Telescope in its original incarnation before Lego collaborates with the designer, is WAY too big. Anyway the models are impressive recreations and would make a great gift for any adult or birds enthusiast. Out of all the birds, I think the Blue Jay has the best scale – it’s just the right size to incorporate all the necessary birdlike details and look balanced at the same time.

s first LEGO Ideas set, LEGO Birds showed up on my doorstep late last week and I couldn’t wait to tear into the set. LEGO TimeLapses builds Poulsom’s official LEGO Birds set, featuring a robin, a blue jay, and a hummingbird, in the above video. With a small dedicated team of LEGO fans serving your needs, we're sure you wont find a better or more friendly service anywhere else online. This set contains 3 unique printed 'Flat Tile 2x4' pieces in Black each with the specific bird's name in Latin: Erithacus Rubecula, Cyanocitta Cristata and Colibri Thalassinus. Each Bird has its own stand very similar to the architecture stands but this time we have the green grass with a small pedestal for the birds to fit on.
