In August 2011, it was announced that the JuliElmo tandem will have a movie, after their successful team-up for their first acting project Andres de Saya. She NEVER complained about Emma's selfishness; she was fiercely protective, patient, and endlessly selfless. This pulled at my heart strings in all the right ways with the most wholesome dynamic between Emma and Justin woven into themes of family wounds and healing past traumas. When Kate Harris accepts the job of redecorating her brother Aidan’s house in the picturesque town of Willowbury, she knows it’s just a stop gap before she has to decide what to do with the rest of her life.

Yes, the stress of his family situation was downplayed big time, but at least it was something different than the "my mom died when I was young" backstory that we usually see for MMCs. This is my first Abby Jiminez that I completed (dnfed Yours Truly—no I won't be taking questions at this time) and I did find it funny. Closed captions (CC) refer to subtitles in the available language with the addition of relevant non-dialogue information. The bakery has since gone on to win numerous Food Network competitions and has amassed an international following. Another massive highlight of this book was seeing the former Part of Your World/Yours Truly crew, it’s this interconnected stand alone series that’s made me fall head over heels with Abby’s writing and seeing these characters makes my heart 🥹 burst! But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected—including catching real feelings for each other.

Overall, this book was relatable for me on many levels and one I would recommend for someone who loves a story of healing, true friendship, and the realities of love.In true Abby fashion we have an unforgettable meet cute AND of course those moments of comedic relief. I fell in love with the story and these characters and now I’m off to re-read Part of Your World to fill the Abby sized void in my life. Everything was so insta-lovy, mixed with miscommunication and a very insufferable FMC and it ruined the entire story for me. If she hadn't extracted her head from delulu-land, I would've given this one star so brace yourself while reading this. The bakery has since gone on to win numerous Food Network competitions and, like her books, has amassed an international following.

So said grandkids pretend to date to get their grandmas off their back while they work on other stuff. Emma needed to work on herself and I was beyond proud of her for realizing that she’d only become the person she hated the most (Amber) to Justin’s siblings if she stayed.Emma’s grief and trauma and tragedy were so all-encompassing that the only person she could give almost all of herself to was her best friend, and in spite of the frustration and grief that sometimes caused her as well, Maddy never gave an inch. So when Amber is “getting better” and Emma wants to give her another chance, Maddy sees right through the BS—and is right, of course—but that strained the relationship for a quick minute there. But when Emma's toxic mother shows up and Justin has to assume guardianship of his three siblings, they're suddenly navigating a lot more than they expected - including catching real feelings for each other. Justin and Emma were such relatable characters and it was exciting and easy to watch their relationship unfold. Abby Jimenez is a Food Network winner, USA Today and New York Times best-selling author, and recipient of the 2022 Minnesota Book Award for her novel Life's Too Short.
