Description

Discover the elements that make a good growing space, how to prepare your patch, make your own compost, get hold of your first seeds, and strategies to multiply the seeds you do have. For further information about your statutory rights, contact your local authority Trading Standards department or consumer advice center (for example the Citizen's Advice Bureau if you are in the UK). This book is essentially a plant-by-plant guide, and it's pretty good at describing how to plant, harvest, and sustain a garden with the plants it covers. Huw Richards wants us all to be growing our own fruit and vegetables, and he wants to show that we don’t need much money (or even our own garden) to do so. Grow your own food in your home garden, acreage or container, and look forward to a bountiful harvest year-round.

I love the philosophy behind this book and it broke things down into realistic but manageable parts. Grow Food for Free teaches you how to produce no-cost, low-maintenance fruit and veggies — and finding low-cost ways to overcome common gardening worries.

With 15 years' experience growing organic, sustainable food in his family's garden, Huw Richards has seen that cost is often a barrier to people growing their own food, so he wants to help everyone grow fruit and veg sustainably and inexpensively. He gives a lot of good tips on how to source materials for your garden or even using someone else's yard/garden. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Huw Richards has been growing organic food in raised beds for the last 17 years and recently launched Abundance Academy, providing online courses on improving garden productivity.

Schaut Euch den Youtubekanal von Huw Richards an und entscheidet dann, ob Ihr sein Buch kaufen wollt. Key plant maintenance instructions are provided throughout the book, as well as how to fend off common pests and diseases. Huw recommends his favourite low-maintenance, high-yield crops, providing key growing instructions and advice on fending off common pests and diseases. This home gardening book shows you everything you need to barter, borrow, repurpose, and propagate your way to a bountiful harvest without burdening your bank balance! If a refund or reimbursement is payable to you, we will transfer the money using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.

The chapters on growing certain crops are only semi relevant for US-based readers because the timings, types of pests, etc. There's also a lot of reliance on other people and community, which can be great, but just isn't an option in a lot of places. I’ve long wanted to grow my own food, particularly as a way to get away from produce that only seems to arrive in plastic containers.
