metres; the instructions recommend that you don't use an extension lead, but my layman's view is that if you get one rated for 16 A and 240 volts there shouldn't be a problem -- is not the power cord on the heater itself an extension lead and plug?

The stylish De'Longhi TRD0820T Dragon 3 Oil Filled Radiator convects air through its unique "chimney", providing a fast flow of hot air that quickly warms the whole room. Arguably, getting something for totally free will get a true MoneySaver's heart pumping faster than any cardio workout ever could.Oil Filled Radiator is perfect for heating up your home with 3 heat settings and an Electronic Climate Control for quick and easy changes to the temperature. The built in timer means you can rely on it to warm the room before you wake up in the morning or before you get home from work. We bought a house with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two living rooms, yet we still live out of one room like we still have a one bedroom apartment. I would say that only if you are a very fussy sleeper, as some people are, would you be bothered by the barely discernable whir: others, if they can hear it a few yards away, may even find it comforting.

LOTS of hot air coming up through the "chimneys", and stays really warm for ages after the thermostat has switched it off. The Dragon TRD0820T has been designed to have a smooth and safe profile, with rounded edges and fitted castors, making it safe and easy to move around the home as necessary. I received a message saying that the item had been damaged in transit and that I would receive a refund minus the postage charges. The only thing I can see the DeL doing better is the timer (if you want one) and a marginal increase in speed at which it might get the room up to the required temp, but you'll use more electricity in doing so. Hour Programmable Timer Energy-saving feature with 96 settings lets you heat rooms for any desired amount of time and select different time periods throughout the day and night. It heats up the room really quickly (office space: around 5 x 7 metres) even with the thermostat on quite a low setting. Some reviewers have claimed that the timer is disturbing noise-wise in the bedroom, others that it is totally silent. Secondly, I intend to use this in a free-time/holiday cottage a fair drive away which I use from spring to autumn, and I have a gsm phone device plugged into the wall there, which I'll plug this heater into, and I can then turn the power on and off by sending a text message: so I can leave this heater in the 'on' position and turn it on and off simply by turning the power on and off at the wall remotely, via gsm. The digital control panel with LEDs allow you to set the desired room temperature, the power level and the timer to suit. They generate just enough heat around the unit to make you go “OK, heat IS coming out of this thing…why can’t I feel it?

Smooth rather than finned sides are also safer if a child, or anyone else for that matter, should fall on the heater, as my daughter will testify -- fortunately the scar where she split her skin is under her hair.

The only downside is the length of the cable which is really too short so an extension lead will probably need to be used. It radiates well to the side, and you can hold your hand a yard above it and feel the heat convected off it, a foot or two above and you can easily feel the updraft, which means a very good and efficient distribution of heat through a room. The design is very clever - if you put your hand above the radiator, it generates significant airflow ( without a fan or any moving parts) through intelligent heating vent design, so you are not just depending on the radiator heating the air immediately around it, it actually creates a great deal of airflow itself.

The following video might be useful, and you might even find that your heater's overheat thermostat has tripped.

I did package the item correctly and informed them of this but they still refused to issue refund in full. Working in a similar way to De'Longhi's Vento range, but at a more advanced level, the convective chimneys of the Dragon 3 range provide a "Super Chimney Effect" with multiple narrow chimneys, which increases convective air flow in a superior way. Vertical Thermal Tunnels are engineered to maximize radiant heat flow while maintaining a low surface temperature.
