My favourite part is when all the children make efforts to bring Sally’s dream come true with a glimpse of life she could have had if she wasn’t ill. I've read each one of David Walliams' novels for children, and this is now probably in my top three (after Boy in the Dress and Billionaire Boy).

As the crumbling hospital and it’s colourful inhabitants provide the setting for the children’s midnight escapades, Walliams both entertains and amuses, whilst delicately weaving a message of friendship, loyalty and not judging a book by its cover along the way.

Even though the children are all ill, it dosen’t stop them going on adventures and bringing their dreams to life. Tom subsequently finds himself on the children’s ward of horrible St Hugo’s Hospital… And a part of the midnight gang! Once Tom has been admitted to the children’s ward, he meets Porter, who helps the Midnight Gang to go on adventures at night.

They do find a father-figure of sorts though, one who incites prejudice of his own and has his own sad backstory, and gives the reader something to think about on judging by appearances. What is the role of media in perpetuating body shaming and how can it be used to promote body positivity instead?

It feels a little like Matilda, which I'm sure the author would be happy to hear, and is just full of heart. In each episode you'll follow one person's journey, getting to listen in on their coaching sessions with Selina and following them as she sends them off on a task to try out a new career idea. Imagine having three life-coaches who had been through the toughest mental and physical challenges; a crack team of problem-solvers who knew in their day job that one mistake could be the difference between life - and death. In the final installment of my Queen-related posts to celebrate her official 90th birthday this weekend, read my review of 'The Servant Queen and the King she serves' and enter the competition to win your own copy of the book that addresses how the Queen’s Christian faith has guided and influenced her during her life and service to our country.

When Billy can’t find the informant, he wonders if Kate is secretly harboring her, since the two grew close during Kate's weeks undercover. Tom’s parents come to take him along and he never has to go back to his nasty, horrible boarding school. In case anyone is wondering about my old favourite Raj, yes, even Raj has got himself into the story as usual, as a patient who is decidedly not happy with the hospital food! The opening portraits help readers engage with and remember the characters before the book even starts. The story is about a Midnight Gang of differently abled kids, who fulfill each other’s dreams right at midnight without getting caught. Dạo này mình cứ muốn đọc mấy quyển sách thiếu nhi kiểu vầy, vì sự thuần khiết, cái mà càng lớn mình càng muốn kiếm tìm. By the talented the talented author, David Walliams, and outstanding illustrations by Tony Ross, this book has it all.
