Points are awarded at the end of each round, with guessing players scoring points depending on how close their markers were to the correct coordinates and the clue giver earning points from how many guesses were accurate. But there may be times I want something else, and your first turn could start with picking your color. It could be as simple as saying “cut open”, “pre-cut”, “guacamole”, or changing it up and going a different route like “Douglas fir”. After writing for Kotaku UK, Waypoint and Official Xbox Magazine, Alex became a member of the Dicebreaker editorial family.

But when I found it on the board and saw the huge variety of hues around it, my mind started scrambling for how my cue would be interpreted. But if your kids still enjoy coloring in the random sort of way we all began our coloring journeys, then Color It! Half of the table hated it, and half loved it, which shows that this game is not for everyone, but it can be enjoyed with friends. coloring book I got one Christmas and the frustration I had when I didn’t have the right colors to make all the characters as I saw them in those Nintendo Power magazines. In a lot of ways, it’s a nice change of pace from a competitive experience that you usually find in most games. The active player needs to get the other players to guess the colours on the board closest to the coordinates shown on the card. We chose rainbows but you could easily change the theme to transportation, animals, alphabet, whatever fits who will be playing and what skills you wish to focus on. Hues and Cues is a vibrant game of colorful communication where players are challenged to make connections to colors with words.

If more than one person has the same most preferred color then obviosly only one person gets this color (randomized among the people with the same preferred color). Each round, one player draws a card containing a swatch showing four of the many colours found on the Hues and Cues game board - which runs the gamut from lime green to magenta - with each colour corresponding to a different location on the game board. Some rounds we’ve all hit really close to the chosen color and other times we’ve been super spread out all over the board.
